After the saury catch is sucked on the vessel by the fish suction machine, it enters the sorting machine through the fish-water separator. The sorting machine is equipped with several rollers parallel to the sliding direction of the saury, so that the saury can slide on the inclined platform composed of several rollers. The saury is sorted and classified from small to large by the variable spacing between the rollers. The sorted fish are guided to the arranging machine, which uses image recognition technology to distinguish the direction of the head and tail of the fish, and classifies them according to the direction of the fish body for subsequent packing operations. In addition, most of the machine parts are made of stainless steel to avoid corrosion due to contact with sea water and salt at sea.

This patent applied artificial intelligence machine learning to perform full-spectrum identification on the spectrum data produced by spectral measurement equipment (such as Raman spectroscopy or near-infrared spectroscopy). Taking pesticide residue detection as an illustration, the first step is to provide many spectra of pesticide-free or low residue below the MRL limit. By single-level support vector machine (One class SVM) model, AI generates a set of models to discriminate the spectrum for real crop samples and calculated group level and produce a value to quantify the difference between the unknown sample and the qualified sample. This value reflects the risk of pesticide residues in the sample.

This technology includes the method of providing parental diet、establishing pairs、spawning in captive and larval rearing for the Green banded goby. In the controlled recycle broodstock tanks Green banded goby can keep spawning in the whole year about 5,000 eggs. Eggs are collected to the rearing tanks, after hatching provide the suitable zooplankton and environment till metamorphosis. After the juvenile stage, the artificial feed will be provided and soon to be accepted, it helps when the fishes sale to the aquariums or consumers will be much easier to be raising, and also show a higher survival rate than the wild catch individuals during the process (include transport, exhibition). This technology transfer scheme also provides 3 pairs of broodstocks to make sure the production can be started immediately.

Mass production of Green banded goby Elacatinus multifasciatus

The continuous tracks on both sides are driven by independent electric motors, which can achieve in-situ rotation. The gentle driving characteristics of the electric motors enable stable movement of the chassis and reduce the violent shaking of the working platform on the boom. In addition, there is no engine exhaust. The controller can be separated and remotely control the vehicle, so that when it is boarded on a truck or crossed over a high-risk slope, personnel do not need to ride on it. After computer simulation and actual verification, the operating vehicle can guarantee its attitude safety with a load of 120 kg, a lifting height of 2.8 meters and an inclination angle of 20°; it can continue to walk for more than 4 hours under the condition of full power (doesn’t include downtime). The aerial platform can be used in orchard harvesting, pruning, thinning and bagging operations, which can increase the efficiency by more than 50% compared with traditional climbing or ladder work.

In this technology, the separated fresh egg yolk is directly immersed in the pickling solution of a specific formula. The design allows salt to enter the egg yolk and makes water in the egg yolk evaporate at the same time so that salted egg yolk can be formed in a short time (2-3 days). If a special-shape mold is applied, the salted egg yolk in the desired shape can be produced.After combining this technology with the egg knocking and egg separation equipment, salting environment control instrument, and other auxiliary equipment (blenders, dryers and packaging machines), the mass production equipment can produce 67,500 salted egg yolks per month with an estimated annual output value of NTD 6 million.

This labor-saving device has obtained five invention patents in the Republic of China, including wearable upper arm man-machine aid, adjustable exoskeleton device, adjustable labor-saving device, wearable lower limb man-machine aid and wearable labor-saving assistive devices.

Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus (L.) is the largest and fastest growing species of tilapia. However, as most seedling operators use androgenic hormones to induce the production of all male progenies, doubts on food safety are raised for this fish. Supermale Nile tilapia is the research result from more than 12 years of experiments, where androgenic hormones are not used in the production process. Due to the good growth speed and meat yield, it can effectively lower production costs and enhance the international competitiveness of the industry. This is also a new trend in the development of the tilapia industry in the world.

The mechanism of transplanting 6 rows at a time can be applied on Chinese cabbage, rapeseed, small pine cabbage and lettuce, while that of transplanting 2 or 3 rows at a time can be used in long-term leafy vegetables such as cabbage, head cabbage, mustard greens and corn.

Self-driving technology application and verification energy

Based on the market development in the two major electric vehicle application fields of railway transportation and road transportation, the air-conditioning energy consumption is focused on in this report. Beyond the Planet: The Next Decade in Space Innovation

The WEC devices developed at ITRI utilized an energy conversion hydraulic power system. Wave energy is first absorbed with a buoy and converted into mechanical energy. This is done through a low friction and high-efficiency mechanism, which is patent pending. The mechanical energy is further converted into electrical power through a hydraulic motor and a power generator. The WEC device is designed in such a way that it could be installed with different anchor type depending on site condition. The key technology is the capability to design and develop a WEC device with respect to required power and specific wave climate.

Wave Energy Conversion System Technology

This technology uses an ultra-thin oxide layer and a polycrystalline silicon layer as a novel passivation structure at rear side of the cell, and can be easily industrialized by upgrading the existing PERC production line. The key technology is the films formation of ultra-thin oxide and polysilicon by using low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) technology instead of expensive solutions, such as plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) or reactive plasma deposition (RPD). ITRI's TOPCon solar cell, which features high optoelectronic conversion efficiency, high ROI, and short energy payback time (EPBT), has successfully completed pilot production. This solar cell leads the world with a 23.5% of cell conversion efficiency and a module power up to 360W, and the outdoor performance of modules has been verified at the Liujia Campus in Tainan. A rough estimate of the annual output value of produced 20MW of cells and modules is NT$300 million. Various resources have been integrated in the creation of virtual power plant (VPP) control technology. ITRI's Chung Hsing Campus in Hsinchu serves as the dispatching center, linking the Liujia Campus in Tainan, the Shalun Green Energy Technology Demonstration Site, and other distributed energy resources to demonstrate the balance of power supply and demand within the grid. This technology is driving new opportunities in Taiwan’s low-carbon energy industry.

The event demonstrated AI Decision Support Technology of Fundus Image in Diabetes Mellitus, developed in Technology development programs dominated by Ministry of Economic Affairs, and presented artificial intelligence applications to achieve net zero carbon emission and digital transformation in the manufacturing industry. Furthermore, the demonstration also included that the data platform with the functions of automated prediction and analysis could be used to implement Data Governance. FAST AI technologies are developed to do edge computing in local but to integrate model parameters in cloud and the principle is to avoid the concern of data landing from cross-enterprise. In addition, FAST AI technologies could be used to automate data processing and model construction to minimize the effort to solve the problems. Last but not least, FAST AI technologies could effectively reduce the amount of labeled data required to develop high-accuracy models. Blueprint for Taiwan's 2030 Precision Health Industry Development

ITRI Full-Body Strideway Analysis system tracks the gait and posture changes of the elderly to assist in the detection of sarcopenia. It screens the elderly for any possible loss of muscle mass that would cause weakness. Once an abnormal gait is found, the system can recommend customized orthotic interventions through a Physical Fitness Measurement System, or the subjects may by themselves correct their abnormal gait through exercise with professional fitness instructors. ITRI FBSA mainly comprises two technologies: a pressure sensing floor mat and a body skeleton dynamic analysis system. Elderly subjects do not have to wear any devices, the system detects and measure their gait data, such as their feet pressure mappings, total pressure magnitude on each foot, walking speed, cadence, stride length, the trajectory of their center of pressure (CoP), and their postures. The system would correlate these measured data to the muscle activity of subject. In order to improve the functions of traditional helmets and meet the needs of workers in hazardous environments, a smart helmet incorporating a safety monitoring system has been developed that is capable of : (1) transmission of images of personnel on-site operations; (2) voice communication; (3) ) physiological monitoring of personnel's body temperature, pulse and other information; (4) on-site hazardous gas detection; (5) lighting function; (6) human body status monitoring: detecting accidental fainting or falling ; (7) uploading field data to the back-end monitoring center; (8) providing real-time status display; (9) equipped with distress device; (10) reserve that is capable of expansion to include functions transmission functions such as Bluetooth, and so forth. 1. For workers in special working environments such as confined spaces, the equipment required to enter the work site is not only safety helmets and other personal protective equipment, but also the necessary tools for lighting, gas detection and communication, but traditional safety helmets cannot meet the needs of such workers. This smart helmet integrates Internet of Things technology and multiple functions, greatly enhances the functions of traditional helmets, improves the convenience and safety of workers in special working environments, and meets the practical needs of special fields.2. This smart helmet can send back data from the on-site working environment and worker activities to the back-end monitor, so that the management personnel can have a good knowledge and understanding of the information of the physical condition and working environment conditions of the on-site personnel at all times and make appropriate decisions in an emergency to protect the safety of workers.

The smart helmet

This technology extracts the skeleton data of the operator through videos taken on a manufacturing site. In addition, it establishes the standard operation action database that can determine the safety of the worker's operation. For example, according to the correctness of the process of loading, unloading, spraying, picking, and transferring in the operating press of the stamping machine, the system can establish a safety judgment model for the operation of highly dangerous machinery and tools.Image recognition technology is used to analyze the videos of the on-site punching machine operators through the smoothing of the images, labelling and de-noising skeleton information. In addition, three processes are utilized: (1) human body joint calibration and coordination capture during the operation under time sequence map establishment; (2) use of image processing technologies such as region selection, image smoothing and image de-noising to improve computing efficiency and image recognizability; (3) three-stage process of action standardization establishment is performed for each individual operation. Actions in videos are transformed into data and visualized to conduct machine learning training and operating action recognition models. Once operators have unsafe actions during operations, the recognition system can issue warnings in a timely manner to remind operators and management personnel to pay attention to avoid problems during operations.

TMAH is a toxic substance frequently used in high tech industries (e.g. semiconductor and optoelectronic industries). Deaths have occurred in the past due to major occupational disasters caused by TMAH splashing. The objective is to improve the effectiveness of emergency treatment after workers are poisoned by using an antidote when they are preparing the TMAH.There is no evidence among currently known TMAH detergent Diphoterine having a detoxifying effect on the systemic toxicity of TMAH. The patented technology innovatively applies glutathione (Glutathione) or N-Acetyl-Cysteine (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) serves an invention with new use as a TMAH antidote.1. This TMAH antidote may mixed with the common adjuvants, diluents, or carriers for the appropriate dosage form, e.g., lotions, ointments, medicated patch, solution, emulsion, powder, and other internal or parenteral dosage forms such as injections, drip infusion or perfusion fluid.2. The application of this technology is particularly suitable for high-tech factories where there are no shower areas or where a large amount of water cannot be used to clean and decontaminate immediately. If the TMAH antidote of the present invention can be applied immediately, the lives of the injured can be rescued right after the accident occurs.

2021 will be the year that governments prepare for the ‘new normal’ of life after COVID-19, which will require resilient social and economic systems. As the epidemic accelerates the use of digital technology, not only is it driving the concept of smart life, but companies are also accelerating digital transformation. Most people have learned that Taiwan is developing self-driving cars and drones from news, but only a handful of them know that Taiwan is also developing its own autonomous ships, already been put into test in Love River, Kaohsiung.The complexity of marine systems, the huge difference between different types of ships together hindered the development of autonomous ships world-wide comparing to that of self-driving cars. However, as around 90% of traded goods in the world are carried over the waves, when autonomous ships become reality, the impact on the world trade is not to be overlooked.&nbsp;Among all the research projects work on unmanned marine vehicles in Taiwan, the one executed by Ship and Ocean Industries R&amp;D Center (SOIC) is the only one that uses a real boat that can carry passengers as the test platform, testifying the research and development skills of Team SOIC.
